We are hiring someone to join our team at Alexanders to help with carrying out general maintenance duties, upkeep and repairs to the interior and exterior of the building including painting, decorating, building maintenance etc. 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Receiving/checking deliveries and allocating goods to appropriate departments
  • Ensure all deliveries are checked and signed for and relevant paperwork is received
  • Ensure any anomalies are reported to relevant departments
  • Ensuring that all areas of the shop and stores are kept tidy and organised
  • Building props for visual merchandising and displays throughout the year but particularly at Christmas
  • Health & Safety checks in all areas of the shop and stores
  • Manage and maintain all safety and maintenance records ensuring they are kept up to date
  • Cleaning and maintenance of air conditioning units, food hall equipment and kitchen equipment
  • Fire alarm checks
  • Complying with waste management regulations
  • Ordering Fuel and Supplies

  • Willingness and ability to be flexible
  • Have excellent customer service and people skills
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Experience of carrying out joinery duties and maintenance of electrical equipment (e.g. experience of being a handyperson)
  • Sales experience
